The team is already in South Africa and is gearing up for a series spanning all three formats, kicking off with the T20Is.

With an eye on the approaching T20 World Cup 2024, the team management has directed its focus on emerging talents. Suryakumar Yadav will once again lead a youthful squad, with a limited presence of senior players. The role of deputy captain will be assumed by premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The squad also includes Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Mohammed Siraj, who were part of the ODI World Cup 2023 where India secured the runner-up position.
