Despite Arshdeep Singh dismissing Hendricks after his half-century and part-timer Rinku Singh removing van der Dussen, the Indian bowlers struggled to make significant breakthroughs.
Opting to field first after winning the toss, the host nation witnessed half-centuries from India's opener Sai Sudharsan and skipper KL Rahul, contributing to a competitive total of 211 runs. However, South African pacer Nandre Burger's stellar performance saw him claim three crucial wickets, disrupting India's batting rhythm.
The momentum continued as Lizaad Williams dismissed in-form batter Sai Sudharsan, and Beuran Hendricks took Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh. Keshav Maharaj also made an impact, sending back debutant Rinku Singh and Kuldeep Yadav, securing two wickets for himself.
The two teams will now meet in the series decider on Thursday (November 21) at the Eurolux Boland Park in Paarl, South Africa.
