As netizens lauded the young Indian talent who marked his ODI debut against South Africa, veteran spinner R Ashwin took to X (formerly Twitter) to commend Sudharsan's form, expressing confidence in his promising future.

As for the clash, in the bowling department, India delivered a stellar performance after being tasked with bowling first, limiting South Africa to 116 runs. Arshdeep Singh celebrated his maiden five-wicket haul, supported by Avesh Khan's four wickets and Kuldeep Yadav's final wicket.

Within the South African innings, only opener Tony de Zorzi (28) and lower-order batsman Andile Phehlukwayo (33) made notable contributions. Aiden Markram (12) and Tabraiz Shamsi (11*) contributed modestly to the total.
