South Africa's captain, Aiden Markram, won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second T20I of the three-match series against India at St George's Park, Gqeberha, on Tuesday. In a surprising move, India excluded Ravi Bishnoi, the recently crowned world No. 1 T20I bowler, opting instead for left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

India's skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, commented, "We were confused about what to do. Very happy to bat first. It's an opportunity for everyone who is playing the game. The World Cup is around 5-6 months away. Have told the boys to enjoy themselves."

Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer also missed the XI. Ruturaj Gaikwad was unavailable due to illness, replaced by Shubman Gill. Tilak Varma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj entered the XI as Axar Patel and Avesh Khan were omitted.

Fan discontent over Bishnoi's exclusion surfaced on social media, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter). This decision surprised many, considering Bishnoi's recent Player of the Series accolade against Australia.
