After Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer worked to stabilize the innings on Day 1 of the 1st Test against South Africa, the momentum shifted once the set pair was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada shortly after the Lunch Break. However, KL Rahul has now taken charge, trying to push India's score beyond the 200 mark and securing his half-century in the process.

In the 51st over, during its final delivery, KL Rahul powered a SIX to reach his 50 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Taking advantage of the full width outside off, Rahul elegantly opened the face of the bat on the sliced loft, sending the ball soaring over third man and clearing the cushions.

Witnessing the 'KLassy' innings played by Rahul, netizens have expressed their appreciation for his batting prowess following his comeback into the Test unit.

As of the current update, 55 overs were completed on Day 1, and India has scored 191 runs while losing 8 wickets. Kohli (38) and Iyer (31) provided a solid start, and later Shardul Thakur (24) supported Rahul before departing. Jasprit Bumrah faced 19 balls before being bowled for a run. Currently, Mohammed Siraj has joined Rahul at the crease.
