The commencement of the 1st Test between South Africa and India at SuperSport Park in Centurion faced a delay in the toss due to overcast conditions and a wet outfield on Day 1. Damp spots on the pitch prompted the use of a hairdryer to expedite the drying process. While both teams anticipated the toss and the start of the game, they engaged in practice sessions in the nets.

An unexpected sight in the Indian camp surprised everyone as coach Rahul Dravid was spotted bowling, providing company to batter Virat Kohli.

On Disney+ Hotstar, commentators Sanjay Bangar and Sanjay Manjrekar commended the coach's bowling action, noting Dravid's versatility in contributing to Team India, from opening the batting to coming down the order and even donning the gloves.

The footage of the two batters bowling during the warm-up stirred reactions on social media, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Regarding the weather report, the forecast for the first two days of the 1st Test isn't promising, but the rain is holding off for now. Abhimanyu Easwaran has stepped in for Ruturaj Gaikwad, who suffered a finger injury in the ODI series.
