Match 21 of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 between India and New Zealand witnessed an interruption due to heavy clouds descending upon the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The weather seemed clear until the 14th over, but mist quickly enveloped the stadium, significantly impacting visibility. Umpires were observed in the discussion as low-hanging mountain clouds covered the ground.

Kiwi players were also discontent with the conditions and engaged in talks with the umpires. Indian batters Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer joined the conversation, and subsequently, all players left the field.

Social media users shared images of the stadium shrouded in clouds. Play was halted due to the fog, with India requiring 174 runs to secure victory. However, the game again resumed when it cleared up a little.

At the time of this report, India had scored 100 runs and lost two wickets. Lockie Ferguson claimed both wickets, dismissing Rohit Sharma (46) and Shubman Gill (26).

In the earlier innings, the BlackCaps were bowled out for 273 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell played a vital role, amassing 130 runs, while Rachin Ravindra contributed 75 runs. Glenn Phillips (23) and Will Young (17) also made contributions to the team's total.
