After securing four consecutive victories, Team India is now gearing up for a showdown with their formidable rival, New Zealand, in Match 21 of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled for Sunday, October 22, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. In the current tournament, both India and New Zealand are the sole unbeaten teams, having made a resounding statement with four comprehensive wins each.

The impending clash in Dharamshala is highly anticipated, representing one of the marquee group-stage matches as both teams vie for the top spot in the Cricket World Cup Standings.

In the build-up to this crucial encounter, the BCCI released a video featuring post-match interactions among the players following their victory against Bangladesh. In the video, Shubman Gill is observed engaging in discussions with players like captain Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan.

During his conversation with the skipper, Gill pointed out that India hasn't beaten New Zealand in an ICC tournament since 2003. He playfully inquired, "Agle mein jeet pakka samjhe?" (Should we consider winning the next game for sure?)

However, Rohit responded, "It's true that we haven't won against them. But we are playing good cricket. We can give our 100%. As for a 'pakka' win in the next game, we can't be so certain as we don't play such cricket."

He added, "Once we step onto the field, we need to continue doing what we've been doing. We can't look too far ahead. Yes, we haven't had the desired results in the past, but (let's see)."

In the video, Gill was also seen engaging in light-hearted banter with Siraj, asking about his subdued aggression. He conversed with Ishan Kishan about his frequent sprints on the field with water bottles and towels.

Team India displayed their prowess by defeating Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, triumphing by 7 wickets with 51 balls to spare.

In pursuit of the 257-run target, Rohit Sharma played a pivotal role, scoring a brisk 48 off 40 balls. Although he was one of the three Indian batsmen dismissed while attempting big shots, Shubman Gill contributed significantly by achieving a well-deserved half-century. Furthermore, Virat Kohli registered another century, marking his 48th in ODIs, while KL Rahul remained unbeaten at 34*.

The Indian bowlers effectively curtailed Bangladesh's progress, limiting them to a total of 256 runs for the loss of 8 wickets within the allocated 50 overs. The Indian bowling attack, featuring Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja, each secured two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur added one wicket each to their tally.
