IND vs NED: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma shine with the ball as India's unbeaten streak at ODI World Cup 2023 continues

Amid the festivities sweeping the nation, the Indian cricket team added a crowning achievement by securing victory in the final league game of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Men in Blue clinched their 9th consecutive win, solidifying their entry into the semi-finals with an unbeaten record.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, India posted a formidable total of 410 runs while losing four wickets in their allotted 50 overs. In response, the Dutch managed to score 250 runs in 47.5 overs before being all-out, conceding a 160-run victory to the home team.

Notably, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma showcased versatility by giving the ball to Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and himself during the match, with Kohli and Sharma even contributing wickets in the process.

Teja Nidamanuru was the standout performer for the Netherlands, scoring 54 off 39 balls, while Sybrand Engelbrecht contributed 45 before being bowled by Mohammed Siraj. 

Despite notable contributions from Colin Ackermann (35) and Max ODowd (30), the Dutch fell short in chasing the mammoth score set by India.

India's bowling effort was led by Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja, each claiming two wickets, while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma secured one wicket each.

In the first innings, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli set the stage ablaze with half-centuries, followed by a century spectacle from Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. The Indian middle-order duo showcased their prowess, contributing to India's commanding total of 410 for 4 against the Netherlands in Match 45.

Rohit Sharma and opening partner Shubman Gill initiated a dazzling start, with Gill reaching his half-century in a brisk 30 balls before departing at 51 off 32. The opening partnership reached 100 runs in 11.5 overs, setting the stage for Virat Kohli's entry amid thunderous cheers from the Bengaluru crowd.

Following Kohli's arrival, Rohit Sharma also notched his half-century. Despite Kohli's initial challenges, he found his rhythm alongside Shreyas Iyer, forming a partnership of over 50 runs for the third wicket. Kohli achieved another half-century but was dismissed shortly afterwards.

Maintaining the momentum, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul both secured half-centuries, creating a historic moment in a World Cup match where all five top-order batsmen in a team achieved fifty runs.
