After being dismissed for a nine-ball duck in the first innings at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot, Shubman Gill has displayed resilience by playing a sensible innings and reaching his half-century in the second innings on Day 3 of the 3rd Test against England. 

Following in the footsteps of his partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, Gill also struck a six to bring up his fifty. He has amassed 56 runs from 101 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Just before Gill's milestone, Jaiswal had notched up his century in 122 balls, comprising 9 fours and 5 sixes. Witnessing the impressive performances of both batsmen, fans expressed their admiration, stating that the 'youngsters are doing it for India.'

In the ongoing clash, skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 19 by Joe Root. At the time of writing this article, 44 overs had been completed, and India had scored 185 runs while losing just one wicket, extending their lead to 311 runs.

Jaiswal, who bravely continued playing despite suffering from back spasms after scoring his century, has been forced to walk off the field. He retired hurt but received a standing ovation from the crowd. Even Baz McCullum was seen clapping in appreciation of his remarkable innings.

Earlier in the day, Jasprit Bumrah made a significant impact by claiming the wicket of Joe Root at the start of Day 3, laying the groundwork for the dramatic collapse of the English batting lineup. Despite Ben Duckett's impressive innings of 153, Kuldeep Yadav managed to dismiss him, leaving Ben Stokes as the sole English player to provide resistance with a determined 41 off 89 balls.

England's fortunes took a downturn after being at 224/2 earlier in the day eventually succumbing to an all-out total of 319. The dismissals of players such as Jonny Bairstow (0), Ben Foakes (13), Rehan Ahmed (6), Tom Hartley (9), and James Anderson (1) unfolded in quick succession.
