With this remarkable feat, he now joins an elite list of Indians to achieve this milestone.

The moment arrived when a full toss on the pads from Shoaib Bashir met Jaiswal's sweeping bat, sending the ball racing to the boundary. Jaiswal soon leapt in jubilation, punching the air in celebration. The crowd erupted with chants of "Jaiswal, Jaiswal" as this stellar performance by the opener made him the third youngest Indian to achieve a double century.

As for the 2nd Test, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the Men in Blue encountered an early setback as captain Rohit Sharma departed for 14 runs on Day 1, swiftly followed by Shubman Gill, who scored 34. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal steadied the ship, forming a solid partnership of 90 runs for the second wicket with Shreyas Iyer (27), before going on to achieve a career-best score and his maiden century in Test cricket on home soil.

Subsequently, the contributions from the other batters were more modest. Rajat Patidar (32), Axar Patel (27), Srikar Bharat (17), and R Ashwin (20) all chipped in with small scores, while the bulk of the runs continued to shoulder by Jaiswal.

After 106 overs, India has amassed 383 runs but has also lost seven wickets by the morning of Day 2.
