After two wickets had fallen and a partnership needed to be built, Rajat Patidar, who walked to the crease for India, could only stay for 6 balls before he was out for a duck against England on Day 4 of the 4th Test at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

With many players missing this series and younger talents given a chance to debut, Patidar looks to be the only one who did not utilize the golden opportunity given to him. Fans, too, have been disappointed and took to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to bash and troll the batter.

As of writing this article, 33 overs have been completed, and India has scored 114 runs and lost three wickets - Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) and skipper Rohit Sharma (55) being the other two. Currently, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja are at the crease as India needs 78 runs to win, while the Three Lions only need 7 wickets to seal the deal.

On Day 3, England's second innings came to an end after being all out for 145 runs. India displayed great character with the ball as they limited England to a lead of 191 runs. R Ashwin was the standout bowler, securing a fifer, while Kuldeep Yadav followed suit, claiming 4 wickets and Ravindra Jadeja took one.

For England's batting, Zak Crawley's 50 played a pivotal role, while Jonny Bairstow also looked brisk. Ben Foakes managed to score 17 runs towards the end, but Ashwin stood tall and dismissed him. Apart from these contributions, no other English batters made any significant contributions to the scoreboard.

Earlier, Dhruv Jurel missed his well-deserved century by just 10 runs and England managed to maintain a 46-run lead. Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav's partnership at the end tilted things slightly in India's favour.

For England, Shoaib Bashir had also claimed a fifer, while Tom Hartley took three wickets. James Anderson also contributed with two wickets.

On Day 2, England added 51 runs before being bowled out for 353. Standout performances came from Joe Root, who scored a century. Ravindra Jadeja starred for India, claiming four wickets as he dismantled the lower order. Debutant Akash Deep made an impact by removing the top three batters, and Mohammed Siraj chipped in with two wickets.
