And surely, the wicketkeeper-batter did not disappoint as he went on to score his maiden half-century under what fans term as 'all sorts of pressure'. While he lost his overnight partner, Kuldeep Yadav, for 28, he is still playing with ease and has earned praise from fans on social media, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter).
On the previous day, India's batting encountered significant trouble as English spinner Shoaib Bashir claimed 4 wickets at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. Bashir dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, and Ravindra Jadeja, putting his side in the driver's seat.
As of writing this article, India has scored 268 runs lost 8 wickets in 96 overs and is trailing by 85 runs. Dhruv Jurel (55) and Akash Deep (2) at the crease are looking to minimize the damage already inflicted.
