As the ball skidded under his bat, removing the off stump, England Test captain Ben Stokes could only drop his bat in frustration, looking towards Jasprit Bumrah, who claimed his wicket on Day 2 of the second Test at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

In the 49.2nd over, Stokes, edging closer to his half-century, found himself frustrated. He gestured towards Bumrah, seemingly questioning how he was expected to play such a delivery. Bumrah's delivery, a top-class cutter, pitched on a length, slightly nipped in, and beat Stokes. It was also kept a touch low and saw it sneak under the bat to dislodge the off stump. A satisfied Bumrah sported a beaming smile as Stokes trudged back to the pavilion, having scored 47 runs off 54 balls.

Earlier, Bumrah had dismissed the previous game's top scorer, Ollie Pope, with a lethal yorker, uprooting the stumps as Pope departed for just 23 runs. His other victims included Joe Root, dismissed for a mere 5 runs, and Jonny Bairstow, who walked back after scoring 25 runs. While writing this article, he also got his fifer as he got the wicket of Tom Hartley (21).

In his spell of 14 overs, Bumrah had claimed 5 wickets, conceding 42 runs and bowling 5 maiden overs. India will be banking on him to keep his deadly performance on for the rest of the series.

In their chase, the visitors had a promising start, with Zak Crawley scoring 76 runs and Ben Duckett adding 21. However, their partnership was broken by Kuldeep Yadav.
