India is cruising in the fifth and final Test against England at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. By the 49th over, they had taken a 7-run lead, having lost only the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal on Day 1. Shubman Gill added to the excitement by smashing a beautiful six off Shoaib Bashir's bowling after the scores were level.

On Day 2, the Indian batters are just scoring runs, and the English bowlers are desperately seeking a breakthrough.
Currently, India has amassed 241 runs in 54 overs, with a 23-run lead. Despite losing Jaiswal's wicket, the Men in Blue are firmly in control. Gill has scored 88 runs off 125 balls, while the Indian skipper has 92 runs off 141 balls to his name.
Earlier on Day 1, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the second-fastest Indian batsman to reach 1,000 Test runs, achieving this milestone in just 16 innings.
Before India's innings, the Three Lions, who won the toss and opted to bat, were bowled out for 218 runs, with Kuldeep Yadav claiming a five-wicket haul and R Ashwin securing four wickets in his 100th Test appearance.
Aside from Zak Crawley's notable contribution of 79 runs, no other batsman managed to exceed the 30-run mark. Ben Duckett (27), Joe Root (26), Jonny Bairstow (29), and Ben Foakes (24) contributed to England's total.
