IND vs ENG - Fifer for Ravindra Jadeja in home ground as India win by 434 runs, go 2-1 up in series

One man who could secure the final wicket for England is the bowler who knows the ground like the back of his hand - hometown hero Ravindra Jadeja. He clinched his fifer at the now-renamed Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot, propelling India to a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

This victory marks India's largest-ever win in terms of runs in their 577-Test history. On the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, India currently occupies the second spot, with New Zealand leading the table. As for England, they occupy the 8th spot.

After seven wickets had fallen, skipper Rohit Sharma approached the umpire to inquire about the possibility of an extended time if one more wicket fell. However, the additional time wasn't required as the visitors were all out for 122 runs, handing India a commanding 434-run victory in the 3rd Test.

India had posted a mammoth total of 557 runs, courtesy of Yashasvi Jaiswal's double century and impressive batting performances from Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan in the second innings. In the bowling department, Ravindra Jadeja claimed five wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah picked up two each, and Ravichandran Ashwin took one.

The English batters, including Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, skipper Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes, Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, and Mark Wood, succumbed like a house of cards, with none managing to settle at the crease.

Earlier in the day, rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed his second double-century, overcoming back spasms from Day 3. His partner Sarfaraz Khan also contributed with a half-century, scoring 68 runs before the Indian captain declared the innings at 430 for 4 wickets.

In the second innings, skipper Rohit Sharma fell for 19, followed swiftly by Rajat Patidar's dismissal with a 10-ball duck. Night-watchman Kuldeep Yadav briefly partnered with Gill before Gill was run out for 91, narrowly missing his century. Kuldeep departed after scoring 27 runs.

For the Three Lions, Joe Root, Rehan Ahmed, and Tom Hartley each claimed a wicket.
