Just days after India and Australia faced off in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, the two nations are back in action with a 5-match T20I series, starting the first in Visakhapatnam. Suryakumar Yadav, leading Team India, won the toss and chose to field.

The decision prompted fans to troll the team, suggesting they couldn't win when it mattered, referring to their recent loss in the World Cup final.

The memes are due to the fact the Aussie skipper Pat Cummins had won the toss in the ODI World Cup, opted to field first, restricted India to 240 runs, and comfortably chased down the target to win their 6th trophy.

Looking ahead, with the T20I World Cup not far away, both teams aim to prepare for the tournament in the West Indies and USA. The congested international schedule has led to both teams not fielding their full-strength squads.

India has stuck with the squad that secured the Gold medal at the recent Hangzhou Asian Games 2023. Meanwhile, Australia has chosen to rest several of its key players, adding an element of intrigue to the series.

Teams:

Australia (Playing XI): Matthew Short, Steven Smith, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade(w/c), Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, Jason Behrendorff, Tanveer Sangha

India (Playing XI): Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan(w), Suryakumar Yadav(c), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna
