After two nail-biting starts to the 2nd edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL), it's time for Gujarat Giants (GG) to kickstart their campaign as they face the season-opener and defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (February 25).

The third clash of WPL 2024 between GG and MI will begin at 7:30 PM IST. Fans can watch the game live on the Sports18 Network and stream it on the Jio Cinema app and website.

About the GG vs MI clash:

While Gujarat Giants will be playing their first match this season, the MI franchise has already played a game and secured a win. After a superb inaugural season, Mumbai Indians started the new edition by clinching a thrilling victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their opener. 

Sajeevan Sajana's last-ball six sealed the win for them in a nail-biting finish. The side also boasts star players like Mumbai's captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, who is also in good form and supported by others like Yastika Bhatai, who scored a fifty in the last match. They also have international players namely Nat Sciver, Brunt, Hayley Matthews, and Shabnim Ismail to make the team stronger.

As for Gujarat Giants, led by Beth Mooney, the team will be aiming to improve from last season's two wins. They faced challenges due to injuries and finished at the bottom of the points table. The team relies on players like Sneh Rana, and Harleen Deol, and foreign players such as Ashleigh Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield. Additionally, they have mentor Mithali Raj, who is hoping for a better performance from the team this year.
