Iga Swiatek is all of 22, but already has 4 Grand Slam wins to her credit, 3 of which have come from Roland Garros, at the French Open, a tournament that she is now heading into. Swiatek is the defending champion and going by her incredible form, especially on her favourite surface – clay – she will likely hardly break a sweat in getting to a fourth win.

If she does win in Roland Garros on June 8, which is not a big if at this point, she will be the fourth woman ever to have won four French Open titles. She will join the likes of Chris Evert, Steffi Graff and Justine Henin on this list.

Swiatek has just won back-to-back WTA Masters 1000 events in Madrid and Italy, with the latter on clay serving as good practice as she headed to Roland Garros. Besides getting to a fourth French Open win, a victory would also give her the distinction of being the first since Serena Williams (2013) to win in Madrid, Italy and France in the same season.

After her win in Italy, Swiatek had said that she feels confident about her chances in Paris. “I feel like I’m playing great tennis. But it doesn’t change the fact that I really want to stay humble and really focused,” she had said, adding that Grand Slams are different beast altogether, with a different pressure awaiting players on and off the court. “I love to come to Paris and be there. It a great place for me to be and I really enjoy my time there. But these are a hard seven matches that you need to win so I don't take anything for granted," she added.

At the moment, Swiatek looks unstoppable, although, No.2 Aryna Sabalenka could prove to be a tough challenger. For all the action from Roland Garros, subscribe to OTTplay Premium’s Powerplay pack.
