Incessant rain has been battering Paris, impacting the progress of the ongoing French Open Grand Slam, what with only two of the courts in Roland Garros having roof cover. Court Philippe Chatrier and Court Suzanne Lenglen have retractable roofs now, and only the matches scheduled here have been going on without a hitch. The rest remain suspended, with no update on when the players can return to the court and figure out who will advance to the Round of 16.

The men’s singles draw has three matches that currently remain suspended owing to the weather. Zizou Bergs and Grigor Dimitrov had barely started the second set when rain stopped play; Hubert Hurkacz and Denis Shapovalov were tied one set apiece and headed into the third, as also were Alex de Minaur and Jan-Lennard Struff.

Live stream of the French Open is available on Sony LIV, with commentary in English, Hindi and Tamil. You can watch all the tennis action with OTTplay Premium’s Powerplay pack. Enjoy 35+ OTTs like ZEE5, LionsgatePlay, Ullu, SunNXT, SonyLIV, Fancode and 250+ Live TV channels at just ₹99.

In the men’s third round, those who have confirmed a Round of 16 spot so far are Carlos Alcaraz, Corentin Moutet, Stefanos Tstitipas, Jannik Sinner, Matteo Arnaldi, Tomas Martin Etcheverry. But for the two matches scheduled for Court 14, and two at Court Simone-Mathieu, the rest should go ahead without a hitch as they are under roof cover. Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and defending champion Novak Djokovic will benefit from their matches being under cover.

In the women’s singles draw, half of the Round 16 matches order of play has been determined, with the rest to be fixed later today. It remains to be seen how the organizers manage the matches in the open courts and keep the tournament on schedule. Owing to the rain disruptions, the fourth round matches for the men and the women have been split across June 2 and June 3. The finales of the women’s and men’s singles final are scheduled for June 8 and 9 respectively.
