In the recent Asia Cup 2023 encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at Pallekele International Stadium on Saturday, rain played spoilsport which saw the game getting cancelled after only one innings.

Though rain eventually disrupted play, it couldn't overshadow the stellar performances of Pakistani pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf and Indian batters Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya.

Shaheen's exceptional performance with the new ball even caught the attention of former Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The pacer sent back Rohit Sharma with an almost unplayable delivery. In his next over, he added the prized scalp of Virat Kohli.

Shehbaz Sharif was greatly impressed by Shaheen's spell and expressed his admiration for X (formerly known as Twitter). He took the opportunity to praise the exceptional skills of the left-arm pacer. However, in doing so, he indirectly criticized the Indian stalwarts Rohit and Kohli.

"THEY CANNOT PLAY HIM," posted the former Pakistan PM which quickly went viral, eliciting a diverse response from cricket fans worldwide.

Talking about the match, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya exhibited remarkable skill as they rescued India from a precarious position following the early onslaught by Shaheen and Haris Rauf. However, the game's conclusion was overshadowed by rain, leading to a shared points outcome between India and Pakistan in what was anticipated to be an exhilarating Saturday finish.

The result meant that Pakistan wrapped up their Group A campaign with 3 points, securing their spot in the tournament's Super Four stage. Conversely, India, who has now earned a point, need to defeat Nepal on Monday to secure their advancement to the Super Four stage.
