Despite restricting the West Indies to a modest total of 114 runs in 23 overs, Team India encountered difficulties while attempting to chase down the below-par score. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both decided to promote young players by not batting at their usual positions. However, the situation demanded Rohit to step in at No.7 and ensure a successful chase as India eventually secured victory by five wickets.

Ishan Kishan contributed significantly with a half-century, scoring 52 off 46 balls. However, apart from Kishan's performance, there was little support from the rest of the batting lineup. When Kishan was dismissed, India stood at 97/5 in 17.2 overs, prompting the captain to take charge and guide the team to victory.

The collapse of the Indian team in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli at the crease has raised concerns among netizens about Team India's future, especially with the potential retirement of the top two batters. Rohit, who is 36 years old, and Kohli, who is 35 years old, are approaching the latter stages of their careers. As they near retirement, the Men in Blue will heavily rely on the young and upcoming cricketers to carry the team forward. The performance in this match has emphasized the need for the emergence of new talents to fill the void left by these stalwarts once they hang up their boots.

Earlier, in a spectacular display of bowling, Kuldeep Yadav notched up incredible figures of 4/6 in just three overs, while Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with three wickets. The Windies team, initially positioned at 88/3 in 15.4 overs, suffered a dramatic collapse, eventually getting all out for 114 in 23 overs.

Throughout the innings, Captain Shai Hope was left with a desolate feeling despite scoring 43 off 45 balls before being dismissed.
