This weekend, it’s the last race of the 2024 Formula 1 season. The teams are in Abu Dhabi for the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This is the race that will decide if McLaren or Ferrari will walk away with the Constructors Championship. The teams are only 21 points apart, after the Qatar Grand Prix and a maximum of 44 points (a 1-2 finish and 1 bonus point for fastest lap) are still up for grabs.

With a ninth checkered flag of the season, Max Verstappen, who has already defended his Drivers Championship, gave Red Bull valuable points, but the team is out of the race for the Constructors’ Championship.

What went down at the Qatar Grand Prix

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris brought in 8 and 7 points each by finishing as the top two in the Sprint Race, while Ferrari could muster only 5 and 4 each from Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc’s 4th and 5thposition result.

Heading into the race, McLaren was at 623 points, while Ferrari was at 593 and then Leclerc finished second, giving his team a valuable 18 points. Piastri was right behind him and got 15. The scores 638: 611. Then Sainz gave Ferrari another 8 points, while Norris could muster only two. McLaren now stood at 640, while Ferrari had 619.
