Afghanistan's third match in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 against England got off to an impressive start on Sunday after they were told to bat first. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran formed a powerful opening partnership, exceeding the 100-run mark.

Gurbaz, in particular, was the driving force behind the 114-run stand, showcasing explosive batting against the English bowlers. He took on Sam Curran in the ninth over, striking two boundaries and a six, with Curran conceding 20 runs in that over.

However, an unusual incident unfolded in the next over while Curran was positioned near the boundary. Frustration appeared to get the best of Curran, as he forcefully pushed a cameraman who had approached for a close-up shot.

Curran also gestured for the cameraman to stay away from the playing field. Although the commentators didn't address Curran's actions, fans noticed and expressed their disappointment on social media.

Curran, in England's previous two games, had secured a wicket each against New Zealand and Bangladesh. Following their disappointing nine-wicket loss to New Zealand, England got a convincing victory over Shakib Al Hasan's side earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan is still seeking their first win of the campaign. They began the tournament with a one-sided loss to Bangladesh and then fell to the hosts India despite posting a total of 272/8. They couldn't contain India's superior batting lineup, conceding the target with exactly 15 overs to spare.
