For Mohammed Shami, the lead-up to the CWC 2023 finals was nothing short of a dream run. The unassuming pacer was arguably the most potent and effective component of Team India's bowling arsenal and many would vouch for the fact that he was also quite the sight for sore eyes every time he ran up to bowl.

And yet, the cruelty of defeat would strike him and his teammates in the most ill-timed manner as India encountered its only loss of the tournament in the finale against Pat Cummins' Australia. Mohammed Shami, much like his brethren, would have loved to personally take his team over the line but, tragically, that wasn't to be.

Regardless, he took to social media a short while ago to open up about the loss and also express gratitude to everyone who stood by him & the team. He would also share an endearing picture that features none other than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who happened to visit the Indian team in its dressing room post the match.

Of course, Shami's heartfelt confession would attract positive comments from fans and followers who had no qualms in showering praise on him. "Don't worry brother world Cup आते जाते हैं we are with you ❤️" said one such social media user while a few others pointed out just how impressive the fast bowler has been in the World Cup 2023.

Among his many great exploits, one might regard Mohammed Shami's exceptional spell to England's talisman Ben Stokes as the highlight.

On the other hand, PM Narendra Modi's visit to the dressing room has endeared several other players from the Indian team. Ravindra Jadeja, too, recently took to social media to thank the Prime Minister for his gesture and also reveal that the entire team is 'heartbroken'.
