A shocking update is coming out for all the MS Dhoni fans out there. According to reports by SportsTiger, Dhoni might not do wicket-keeping for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the entire IPL 2025. Additionally, the fans can see him participating as an impact player for most of the part. The 43-year-old stepped down from the captaincy duties ahead of the 2024 IPL season. Since then, the team has been led by Rituraj Gaikwad.

The possible reason behind this decision might have been the player's fitness levels. It is important for a player to stay fit throughout the season, considering the amount of cricket that is played during the IPL. It would now be interesting to see how things go for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been one of the faces of this grand league over the years.

IPL 2025 CSK vs MI: Which team has the upper hand?

Match 3 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will be played between two giants, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), on Sunday, March 23. The preparations are at the peak in both the dugouts as they look to begin the IPL 2025 campaign with a victory. The epic contest will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, which might work as an advantage for CSK.

In the last five matchups, CSK has dominated the MI on four occasions. When it comes to head-to-head clashes between these two, both teams have played 37 matches against each other, out of which the Mumbai Indians have won 20 times against the Chennai Super Kings. With two big faces missing out from MI in the form of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, CSK would have the upper hand to start the season with a win.

The high-octane clash between the arch-rivals will begin at 7:30 PM on Star Sports and JioHotstar.
