Indian shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty who faced Chinese Taipei's Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin have made it to the final of the Badminton Asia Championships 2023.

While it was surely not the way they wanted, the Indian pair has booked their spot for the final clash.

The match ended early after their opponent saw one player from the men's doubles face an injury. Wang Chi-lin with a nasty stretch was on the floor and in a lot of pain. He tried to run it off and got up but soon said he could not do it.

The first game was won by the Indians 21-18. In the second, they were down 13-14, but it was then that the injury took place.

The top men's doubles pair from India had already assured themselves a medal after 52 years after booking their spot in the semi-finals.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty outplayed Indonesia's experienced duo Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in the quarterfinals in Dubai on Friday.
