Pakistan may be rueing the missed opportunity of dropping David Warner when he was on 10, as he went on to craft a brilliant century. Adding to their woes, his opening partner, Mitchell Marsh, celebrated his birthday by securing a century of his own.

The duo compiled an impressive 214-run partnership for Australia in Match 18 of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, leaving the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru buzzing.

In the 30.4th over, Warner, who was dropped earlier, notched up his fourth consecutive ODI century against Pakistan. He celebrated exuberantly, jumping and raising his bat after the milestone. He even did the iconic 'Pushpa' movie move as a celebration. The crowd and his teammates in the dressing room gave him a standing ovation.

Most Consecutive ODI Centuries Against a Team:

4 - Virat Kohli vs. West Indies (2017-18)

4* - David Warner vs. Pakistan (2017-2023)

Following this, on the very next delivery, birthday boy Mitchell Marsh joined the century club, expressing his elation as the ball raced to the boundary. After two single-digit scores in the initial two World Cup matches, he made an impactful half-century in the previous game against Sri Lanka and has now added a remarkable century to his name.

The Pakistani bowlers are in a precarious situation, struggling to make a breakthrough. After the early dropped catch, Warner and Marsh have denied them any opportunities to secure wickets. Every bowler has gone for runs, leaving Babar Azam searching for answers.
