Having secured three silvers and two bronze medals earlier on Sunday, India aims to conclude Day 1 on a triumphant note by adding to their medal count at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. 

The Indian women's cricket team is set to face Sri Lanka in the gold medal match on Monday, after defeating Bangladesh and Pakistan respectively. Meanwhile, the Indian men's hockey team demonstrated their dominance with a resounding 16-0 victory against Uzbekistan in a pool match. Swimmer Srihari Nataraj is geared up for action in the Men's 100m Backstroke Final.

Here are the updates of Asian Games 2023 Today:

Football: Despite the match ending 1-1, India qualified for the Round of 16. For India, Sunil Chhetri scored the goal while for Myanmar, the goal was scored by Kyaw Htwe. 

Swimming: Srihari Nataraj secured the sixth position in the men's 100m backstroke swimming final event, completing it in 54.48 seconds.

Boxing: The boxing bout featuring Nikhat Zareen saw her winning against Thi Tam Nguyen of Vietnam in the Women's 50kg Round of 32. This marks Nikhat's debut match at the Asian Games 2023.

Sailing: Siddeshwar Indar Doiphode and Ramya Saravanan, competing in the Mixed Multihull - Nacra 17 category, secured the third position with a time of 28:04 in the tenth race. They currently occupy the fourth spot in the medal tally, with four more races left in their campaign.

In the Mixed Dinghy - 470 class, Sudhanshu Shekhar and Preeti Kongara are currently in fifth place in the points tally, and they have two more races remaining. The Indian duo remains strong contenders for a podium finish.

Ishwariya Ganesh, competing in the Women's Windsurfer - RS-X discipline, currently holds the fourth spot in the medal rankings. She finished in fourth place in both the ninth and tenth races. With three more races to go, Ishwariya remains in contention for a medal.

Football: India are out of women's football event after losing to Thailand (0-1) in their final group game. 

Fencing: Tanishka Khatri bows out in quarterfinals after losing to Hong Kong's Man Wai Vivian Kong 7-15

Tennis: Following Sumit Nagal's victory in the singles round, Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan teamed up to defeat Nepal's Abhishek Bastola and Pradip Khadka in the pre-quarterfinals.

Chess: India's chess team has ignited their campaign with a strong start. Koneru Humpy, D. Harika, Arjun Erigaisi, and Vidit Gujarathi emerged victorious in their respective opening matches in the individual event.

Volleyball: Japan secured a straightforward victory over India in the quarterfinals, eliminating India from medal contention.

Table Tennis: India beat Kazakhstan 3-2 to progress to the quarter-finals. They will face South Korea later in the day (4 PM IST).

Rugby Sevens: The Indian women's team suffered a 0-38 defeat against Hong Kong, China, in their Pool F match. They are now focusing on regrouping for their upcoming group game against Japan later today.

Cricket: India beat Bangladesh by 8 runs in women's cricket semi-final. They will face Sri Lanka, who defeated Pakistan to secure their Final spot.

Swimming: Srihari Nataraj secured the fifth position overall in the men's 100m backstroke heats, earning qualification for the final scheduled for later in the day.

Hockey: India win 16-0 against Uzbekistan. Hattricks for Manpreet, Lalit and Varun have seen them put on a strong game.
