In the team squash event at the Asian Games 2023, India had a flawless record in the pool stage, except for their match against arch-rivals Pakistan. However, fate brought them face to face again in the final, and this time, India seized the gold medal from Pakistan's grasp.

The final commenced with India's Mahesh Mangaonkar, who faced Nasir Iqbal and lost the match 3-0. The scores were 11-8, 11-3, 11-2.

Saurav Ghosal, India's influential star player, stepped in and secured a crucial victory against Pakistan's top-ranked player, Muhammad Asim Khan. The 37-year-old Indian had a comfortable win with scores of 11-5, 11-1, 11-3.

The final game featured India's Abhay Singh against Noor Zaman. Despite Zaman's earlier victory over Singh in the pool stage, it seemed that the pressure of the final took its toll on him. In a thrilling final game, Singh saved two match points, securing India the gold medal in squash.
