Asia Cup 2023: Virat Kohli's 'shocked' expression echoes India's batting collapse vs Pakistan

India made a promising start against Pakistan in Match 3 of the Asia Cup 2023, reaching 15/0 in 4.2 overs before rain interrupted play for the first time on the day. However, when the action resumed, the script took a dramatic turn as Shaheen Afridi unleashed a fiery spell. 

The pacer removed captain Rohit Sharma (11) and shortly after, dismissed Virat Kohli for just 4. Shreyas Iyer, who made his comeback from injury at No.4, showed promise but was dismissed for a mere 14 runs by Haris Rauf. Consequently, India lost three wickets within the first 10 overs, bringing Ishan Kishan to the crease.

Ishan Kishan and the struggling Shubman Gill managed to accumulate three runs in a nine-ball partnership before rain against interrupted play which forced the players off the field. 

This second interruption was even shorter than the first and Ishan Kishan marked the resumption of play with India's first six of the innings. However, the challenges persisted for India as Gill's difficulties at the crease finally came to an end as he walked back for 10. 

Seeing India's batting collapse vs Pakistan, netizens who got their hands on a picture of Virat Kohli looking shocked have been doing the rounds on social media.

As of writing this article, India managed to score 116 runs after losing four wickets in 22 overs. Ishan Kishan (41) and Hardik Pandya (21) are trying to rebuild the Men in Blue's innings.
