The governing body of Asian football has announced the participation of 31 teams in the upcoming qualifiers, scheduled for October this year, to earn a spot in the Futsal Asian Cup next year. These teams have been distributed into eight groups, with seven groups consisting of four teams each and one group with three teams.
The top finishers in each of these eight groups, along with the seven best runners-up, will secure a place in the main tournament, along with the host nation. While Mongolia, Indonesia, Iran, and Uzbekistan have submitted formal bids to host the tournament, the final host country has yet to be confirmed.
India finds itself in Group E of the qualifiers, alongside Myanmar, Tajikistan, and Palestine. In contrast, the defending champions, Japan, are placed in Group H, which is the only group with three teams, also featuring Chinese Taipei and Australia.
All of India's qualifying matches will take place in Tajikistan from October 7 to October 11.
