Just over a year since hosting the 2022 World Cup, Qatar is once again preparing to host the 2023 edition of the AFC Asian Cup. Team India is gearing up for the tournament scheduled to take place from January 12, 2024.

With an expanded format since 2019, the competition now features 24 teams competing for glory. Both the opening game and the tournament's finale will unfold at Lusail Stadium.

India secured qualification even before their final qualifying match against Hong Kong. The Blue Tigers concluded the campaign with an impeccable record, winning all their games.

When does the AFC Asian Cup 2023 start?

The AFC Asian Cup 2023 starts on January 12, 2024. The final of the tournament will be played on February 10, 2024.

India’s group-stage schedule for AFC Asian Cup 2023:

January 13, 2024 – Australia vs India - Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

January 18, 2024 – India vs Uzbekistan - Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

January 23, 2024 – India vs Syria - Al Bayt Stadium

The teams that emerge as winners and runners-up in the six groups, along with the four most successful third-placed teams, will secure qualification for the round of 16. 

Where will the AFC Asian Cup 2023 be played?

The AFC Asian Cup 2023 is set to take place across eight stadiums, namely Education City Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium, Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, and Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. Notably, six of these venues were previously utilized during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
