While one talks about 6 sixes in an over, no one can forget the date September 19, 2007, at Kingsmead, when Yuvraj Singh made sure every ball he faced in that one over of Stuart Broad was all sent out of the park. However, now, Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has gone a step ahead and decided to smash 7 sixes in an over. 

The cricketer has rewritten record books by hitting seven consecutive sixes an in over to create a List A world record in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.

During the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final clash against Uttar Pradesh, the Maharashtra batter created the record at the Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground in Ahmedabad on Monday (November 28).

While Broad was the unfortunate bowler who faced Yuvjraj Singh, here Shiva Singh saw every ball in the 49th over of the innings being dispatched over the boundary by the rising top-order batter. Not just that, the over also consisted of a no-ball, which also the ball fly high across the line.

While this was not enough, Gaikwad added salt to the wounds as he went from the scores of 165 off 147 to 207 of 154 - his first ever double-century in List A cricket.

Gaikwad, who is also captaining Maharashtra in the last-eight stage of the tournament remained unbeaten on 220 off 159. His innings that featured 10 fours and 16 sixes and he saw his side finish with 330/5 in 50 Overs.
