The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House

The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House is a Japanese TV show directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. Kiyo Nozuki is a teenager who lives in a manor along with a group of maiko apprentice geisha. She has always admired the geisha and hopes to become one someday. However, with time, she discovers that it's not the right job for her. Not letting it upset her, she decides to help her troupe by becoming a caterer and cooking delicious meals to support them in their endeavours. The film stars Mayu Matsuoka, Ai Hashimoto, Nana Mori, Keiko Matsuzaka, Natsuki Deguchi, Aju Makita and Takako Tokiwa in prominent roles.
