Marianne Sheridan and Connell Waldron are undergraduate students at Trinity College, Dublin. The series follows the various facets of their relationship as they navigate their personal lives and struggle to articulate and express their intentions. Based on the eponymous 2018 novel by Sally Rooney, the Irish romantic psychological drama limited series is produced by Element Pictures in association with Screen Ireland. Directed by Lenny Abrahamson and Hettie Macdonald, the Primetime Emmy nominated show is written by Sally Rooney, Alice Birch, and Mark O'Rowe, with Daisy Edgar-Jones essaying the role of Marianne Sheridan and Paul Mescal essaying the role of Connell Waldron. Apart from Edgar-Jones and Waldron, the recurring cast includes Sarah Greene, Aislín McGuckin, Éanna Hardwicke, Eliot Salt, Frank Blake.
