An adaptation of the eponymous Anthony Horowitz bestseller, the six-part series on Britbox that revolves around Susan Ryeland, who is the editor for a famous mystery writer, Alan Conway. One day, she receives a new manuscript from him but there is no sight of Conway; she sets off looking for him which turns out to be life-changing. The final chapters of the book with its iconic detective Atticus Pund are also nowhere to be found. Lesley Manville, best known for her acclaimed collaborations with director Mike Leigh, essays the lead role of Susan Ryeland. Pippa Haywood and Tim McMullan co-star. Horowitz has written the adapted screenplay himself while The Full Monty director Peter Cattaneo is helming the series. Manville will soon be seen in the Netflix series The Crown, playing Princess Margaret, taking over from Helena Bonham Carter.
