Hannibal is developed by Bryan Fuller and was based on the characters from the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. This American psychological horror-thriller was also inspired by Thomas Harris' Hannibal and Hannibal Rising regarding certain elements. Hannibal falls into the crime thriller genre as well, following the story of a serial killer in Minnesota. The series introduces doctor Hannibal Lecter, who is a cannibalistic serial killer. He comes across Will Graham, an FBI profiler, and tries to push his sanity to empathize only to turn him into a killer himself. This 39 episodes series went through a trail of hindrances when their official network NBC canceled their show right after airing its third season. However, the makers tried to reach out to Amazon for a streaming platform but failed to move ahead due to the unavailability of an immediate debut. Netflix, on the other hand, was unable to renew the series as the exclusive streaming rights were still held with Amazon.
