After Vishwaroopam II in 2018, Kamal Haasan will be seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram. Earlier the makers had released the ‘Pathala Pathala’ song lyric video which was written and sung by Kamal Haasan, piquing the interest of fans.
The trailer of Vikram hints at an action-thriller. It starts off with Kamal’s narration in the background about a jungle where a lion, tiger and leopard go on a hunt. He proudly claims that he has the entire control of the jungle and is the sole decision-maker. Based on the trailer, it looks like Kamal Haasan denotes a lion, Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi denote a tiger and leopard respectively.
In a cop-gangster set up, Fahadh Faasil plays someone who doesn’t follow the rules and regulations, and Vijay Sethupathi plays a local don. Kamal’s role remains enigmatic and he is seen taking care of a young boy.
The police say only a mysterious masked man can nab a masked criminal. Towards the end of the trailer, one of these masked men is revealed to be Fahadh Faasil. But is he the cop or the goon on the run? There is a dialogue in the trailer “One man’s revolution is another man’s terrorism”. The three major characters appear to be caught in a web of their own revolutions that affects the others, resulting in guns, fires and blasts.
Vikram is directed by Kaithi and Master fame Lokesh Kanagaraj. The star cast includes Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Narain, Antony Varghese, Arjun Das, Gayathrie Shankar and Shivani Narayanan. Suriya is said to play an important cameo.
It is produced by Kamal Haasan & R.Mahendran under the banner Raaj Kamal films International. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer. Cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan and editing is done by Philomin Raj. The film is slated to hit the theaters on June 3.
