Story:

Social media influencers come under one roof. They have to prove their worth and earn their stay in the villa, apart from competing for the prize money. Can they manage it?

Review:

Set in Goa, Social Currency is a unique experience with the social media influencers. It is what happens when Bigg Boss meets Roadies. For US and UK viewers, this is India's version of The Circle, with a twist.

Aakash Mehta is clearly the underdog with the least followers in the lot. Despite the lesser number of followers, he has a talent not many can master. Aakash is a comedian who can make light of most situations.

Ruhi Singh, who is an actress, joins the show to tell her story. She shows you what a modern woman looks like.

Singer-songwriter Sakshi is someone you would have never seen around before. She is her own person and her strong personality overshadows many things on the show.

Mridul is the influencer from Delhi (Pitampura) who has his own mindset when it comes to the show. He is his own person and loudly.

Vagmita is popular for her rant on parents, on social media. However, her real side is explored with this show.

Popular actor Parth Samthaan joins the show. He is not known for his social media as much as his presence alone. Will that work in his favour? What is Parth actually like? You get to know all that a little more through the show.

Rowhi Rai finds her person on Social Currency early on. That makes for a huge part of her journey, till the very end.

Bhavin Bhanushali instantly grabs everyone's attention with his social media influencer personality. He demands all your attention from the first frame. However, this show is different. You do not remain a star forever. How will Bhavin take that? Find out.

The first task is here and it is nothing less than fun. The music absolutely works with the scenes, which is about the influencers being snapped back to reality.

The 'top influencer' Bhavin has a big clash with Ruhi. Mridul being furious with the whole situation is hilarious.

Aakash has a vulnerable moment alone and the video hits you like a storm. With that, Vagmita raises an important question, which makes the show interesting.

Ruhi claims she has faced situations which were uncomfortable but does not speak about those incidents she faced as an actor. Meanwhile, Bhavin and Vagmita discuss what Ruhi supposedly said. Gossip or reality check? You decide.

Mridul ends up calling Sakshi 'plastic.' This is only one of the few things that are problematic on hearing his conversation.

Things get interesting when the house hears all the talks that happened behind the backs. Of course, Mridul faces the wrath for his comments. The task soon after proves why this show is worth a watch.

#RoastYourDost is here and the task changes the game. An important decision later, the first eviction is here.

The grand finale episode is grand in every sense, especially visually. It paves the way for something nobody could possibly imagine.

Verdict:

Social Currency is worth watching. This is especially true if you are a fan of reality shows and feel how easy it is to earn money being an influencer. The real question raised here is, can you do it without talent? Everyone who exists on the show till the very end proves they deserve a spot and your time. So, don’t miss this one.
