Review:
Shadyantra is a concept that is done-and-dusted. To top it up, this film isn’t even a movie. It’s a play disguised as a film and is the overdramatic type of theatre act.
Hina Khan enters Shadyantra in a manner of auditions. Ever since, once cannot distinguish between play and movie. This film is more like a piece of theatre.
The movie is loud for no reason. There is one and just one mystery attached to this movie which keeps you barely hooked.
Anang Desai enters the frame and you understand that he's a sly man underneath the innocent one. This is proven through every frame that he's in.
Shruti Bapna is a little surprise in the movie. She appears stern but ends up being completely different.
Chandan Roy Sanyal in the role of Rohan is ruthless. However, it is only the music that enhances the story.
There's a twist in the drama. This twist is almost expected and thus, leaves very little impact.
Kunaal Roy Kapur in the role of a cop is almost not believable. He barely has a role to play but does impress to an extent.
The drama sees intense acting and that is putting it mildly. Even when the smallest of expressions are required, every actor overacts.
The film does not have any suspense element and barely leaves a mark. This is from the first scene to last.
Verdict:
Shadyantra has absolutely nothing to offer you. From loud dialogues to constant orchestra music to overacting, this movie goes from bad to worse to unbearable. In terms of acting, Chandan Roy Sanyal and only to an extent, Hina Khan, are good to watch. Everything else is a drag.
