Pranayagodari Story

Pranayagodari is set in a small village in Andhra Pradesh. Pedha Kapu (Sai Kumar) is the head of the village and is often seen resolving issues and taking charge of the problems faced by the villagers. On the other hand, Seenu (Sadan) arrives in the village and sets his eyes on Goyya (Priyanka Prasad). Initially, Goyya rejects him, but eventually, she accepts his proposal. After a dramatic turn of events, the couple begins to face several challenges in the village. Does Pedha Kapu intervene to solve their problems and help the couple? What external challenges do they face? To find out, watch the film on the big screen.

Pranayagodari Review

PL Vignesh has written and directed this film, which is a hard-hitting romantic drama made on a low budget. What captures your imagination are the emotions in the film; they make a decent impact even though they are predictable. The character arcs in the film are well-developed, and how each character is given closure is commendable.

Additionally, the simplicity of the love story is handled effectively. There is no beating around the bush as the conflict point is addressed without any deviation. While there is nothing new showcased here, the way events unfold is easy on the audience. The first half of the film is good, though it takes time to arrive at its conflict point. The introduction of each character is well-executed.

Although there are many new actors in the film, the audience does not feel this as director Vignesh has made their performances engaging. Whenever Sai Kumar appears on screen, the narrative gains strength. He holds the film for the most part, and his performance is the highlight of Pranayagodari.

The second half, where key twists are revealed, is decent but takes too long to get there. A few action sequences could have been trimmed to improve the pacing. The screenplay is one of the film’s assets, offering moments that hold your attention. However, once the twist is revealed, the narrative becomes quite predictable, and the climax could have been handled better.

Coming to the performances, debutante Priyanka Prasad is the show-stealer. Despite this being her first film, she captures attention with her expressions and emotional outbursts in key scenes. Sunil Ravinuthala is effective in a fun role, while the main lead, Sadan, looks a bit raw initially but becomes more comfortable as the story progresses.

The production values of the film are decent, but the background score by Markendeya is top-notch, elevating the proceedings significantly. The editing could have been tighter, especially in the second half. Prasad Edara's cinematography is impressive and has been presented in a gripping manner. Pranayagodari is a simple film narrated without unnecessary deviations. While the story is routine and the presentation offers nothing new, the emotions manage to capture your attention.

Pranayadodari Verdict

On the whole, Pranayagodari is a passable village drama that is strong on emotions. Though it takes time to grow on you and has a predictable premise, the likes of Sai Kumar make things watchable despite the slow pace.
