Story:

The story of Physics Wallah is based on the life of Alakh Pandey, a teacher from Allahabad who changed the way education was done in India.

Review:

As soon as this series based on education begins, it reminds you of a scene from Hrithik Roshan's Super 30. A lot of students come on the screen and start hailing their Alakh (Pandey) Sir, the Physics Wallah.

The story starts with Alakh, a third-year engineering student who suddenly lands a teaching job due to his excellence in physics. However, after only one class, he is advised to study the art of teaching.

After practising and revising enough, he learns how to connect with the students and teach them properly, but the owner of the coaching institute won't let him teach the class of his choice. One fine day, he finds out that one of the physics teachers is late to his class, so he lands there to teach with his new style, which garners him immense attention and love from the students.

After completing his engineering degree, he gets to teach in a coaching centre but soon leaves due to creative differences. After a while, he finds himself on a solo trip to a secluded village in Uttarakhand. During his journey, he meets one of his inspirations, and while leaving the town, he gets an idea to create something of his own online to teach the students, and that's when Physics Wallah comes into the picture.

The biographical drama series further showcases the ups and downs of his journey in order to make Physics Wallah a revolution in education for the easy learning of the students.

There are multiple instances in the series where it reminds you of the film Super 30, a sequence where Alakh sees a kid working in his father's lodge while at the same time trying to study whenever he gets the time. On the other hand, a massive battle between two coaching centres focuses on the series on a massive scale. All these scenes seem quite identical to those in the Hrithik Roshan film.

The show talks about Alakh Pandey's journey of turning a single YouTube channel of physics classes into a whole institution of learning in all subjects for engineering and medical aspirants. However, it mostly appears to forcefully showcase the Physics Wallah in the good books of the audience.

All being said, Physics Wallah still seems bearable only due to a great and uncanny representation of Alakh Pandey by Shreedhar Dubey, who stands out in this average show.

Verdict:

The performance of the titular actor is the only watchable thing in the series, while the screenplay definitely needs improvement. Stream Physics Wallah for free on Amazon miniTV.
