Story:

After rescuing Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi has to also help her reach home safely. However, with Darth Vader trailing him in quest for revenge, things won't be easy.

Review:

Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5 goes into the flashback and is quite a delight to watch since it shows the bond between Obi-Wan and Anakin once again. Of course, nothing is the same today.

The series has a suprise since R2D2's very raw version is seen in this episode. While we have seen him in his full glory, seeing this robot help since Kenobi’s times is refreshing. Only C3PO is missing now.

This time, the story blends beautifully between the past and the present. This happens more often, in order to understand Kenobi and Vader’s connection from the past to what it is today and the scenes fit in well.

Moses Ingram as third sister Reva grows powerful and executes that power well. A huge secret is revealed and it is related to her. This changes the whole plot, something that always works.

Obi-Wan and Leia's bond is explored this time too and it is still beautiful. Leia is still fierce and Kenobi has still put his faith in her, which is one of the purest forms of love, expressed in the purest manner.

Kumail Nanjiani and Indira Varma are back in this season. They both are beautiful in their roles once again.

There is a fight this time too and like always it is worth it, even if it is in glimpses and becomes too chaotic. The chaos, however, is beautiful and tends to grab your attention.

There's an emotional moment in this episode. This moment could end up breaking your heart because it is sad and beautiful at the same time.

Luke Skywalker is finally back in vision. However, this time the makers promise an interesting journey ahead - one that might put 'the chosen one' in danger.

Verdict:

Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5 is a mix bag. It has the past and the present and with that, it has a great and mediocre execution. The storyline moves forward but not as intriguingly as it did so far. The makers leave you wondering what's next but that's where the mystery factor ends. Of course, there are moments of fear, shock and sadness but they are fleeting moments and do not impact the bigger story per say, at least not yet. Thus, you can skip this one and wait to watch it till the next episode drops.
