Story

Krishna(Rishwi Timmaraju) is the only son of a widowed lady. He is in love with Satya(Vismaya Sri) and is in plans to marry her. Krishna's other dream is also to complete his own house which his father started. During this time, Daya(Raghu) sets eyes on Satya and gets into an altercation with Krishna insulting him saying that a man, who has no money and house to live in, how will he take care of his girl. An upset Krishna challenges Daya that he will build his house in three months' time and will also marry Satya. Well, how did he accomplish all this is the story of the film.

Review

Krishna Gadu Ante Oka Range is a village drama that is based on a few key characters. To start off with, the title itself suggests that the hero is going to turn things around in a smashing manner once he is sidelined by the villains. The same happens but in a very boring manner. The director Rajesh Dondapati has taken a subject that looks interesting but his execution is horrible. The manner in which the small-town politics and how the hero turns wild for the heroine have been showcased in so many films already.

The best part of the film is the conflict factor of the hero trying to build a house in order to marry his girl looks a bit interesting. The rest of the proceedings fall flat. One of the most disappointing factors is the characterization of the hero. Going by the title, the hero is nowhere strong and is shown as a timid and dull person in the film. He suddenly makes a massive transformation in the second half and looks artificial.

The first half of the film showcases a love story and has a few passable comedy scenes. But after that, the second half is filled with emotions and they look quite predictable. The conflict point is not at all handled properly and what you get to see are boring and mundane proceedings in the name of moving emotions. The only solace of the film is the music by Sabu Varghese. He has composed some good tunes and his BGM also elevates the key scenes well.

The production values are very good and the camerawork showcasing the village backdrop is also good. The screenplay goes for a toss as the emotions do not come across to the audience whatsoever. The pace of the film and the manner in which the time is taken to introduce each character is way too much and irritates the audience in many places.

Performances-wise, Rishwi Timmaraju needs to go a long way in his career. He looks naive and is restless in front of the camera. When it comes to emotional scenes, he struggled to perform. But the female lead Vismaya Sri is amazing. She gets a good role and emotes a lot with her eyes. She has a good screen presence and if selected her roles well, Vismaya will go a long way in her career.

Also, Krishna Gadu Ante Oka Range suffers from a lack of a proper villain. The ones showcased are routine and do not bring anything new to the table. Director Rajesh did not showcase anything new in the love story as well and this bores the audience. There was so much scope for drama in this film but that is lost as weak emotions, boring screenplay, and redundant scenes create a boring effect to this film for the most part.

Verdict:

On the whole, Krishna Gadu Ante Oka Range is an outdated romantic village drama that has absolutely nothing new to showcase. Barring a few emotional scenes, this film falls flat and ends as a massive disappointment.
