Review:
Intinti Ramayanam is yet another film which has a Telangana backdrop and is set in a small town. Director Suresh Naredla creates a conflict point with a simple issue and showcases how different people in the family behave when they are blamed for a robbery. The entire first hour is showcased in a fun mode and the various characters that are unleashed in the narrative have their own uniqueness.
The best part of the writing is that each character has an ego of their own and creates much disturbance with their behaviour in the film. The simple and relatable comedy is what attracts the audience in several scenes. Naresh, who is high on the success of his new film Malli Pelli gets to play a very innocent character and he is very nice in it. He not only mouths the Telangana accent superbly but showcases mature emotions in a wonderful manner.
Rahul Ramakrishna plays the role of a lover boy who is mistreated in the family, and he does a memorable job. TV actress Navya Swamy is neat as the energetic village girl. Gangavva is hilarious in her role and all her scenes create a fun atmosphere. As the conflict point is simple, the drama needed to be gripping but that is not the case in the film.
Also, the pace in the second half slows down completely. A scene where a priest played by Bittiri Sathi makes an entry drags the film for no reason for minutes together. There is so much lag in the scenes as the director does not have much on his plate to elevate the drama. The so-called sentiment scenes also do not work hereby making the film look pale in many areas.
Kalyani Malik's music is fine and so was his BGM. The entire film is set in a small house and the visuals showcased do not look repeated. The editing could have been much better as the scenes look predictable and dragged for no reason. A majority of the key scenes are made lighthearted just to evoke comedy and this leaves the audience displeased.
The climax which is the key is a huge letdown as it is rushed and ends the film on a simple note. The manner in which the lost ornament is found is good but the way it is narrated is silly and disappoints the audience. In a way, the plot is simple, the comedy is decent, but the drama is missing from the film.
Verdict
On the whole, Intinti Ramayanam is a village drama with passable comedy and neat performances. But the required drama is missing in key areas and the slow pace also plays the villain. The film has nothing great to boast and is best suited for the OTT viewing.
