Story: Highway Love explores the lives of Kartik and Inaaya (played by Ritvik Sahore and Gayatri Bhardwaj, respectively) as they navigate their individual paths while being entangled in the complexities of their relationship after they meet on a highway as strangers and later turn into lovers.
Review: The most recent romantic drama series from Sahir Raza is almost like a typical love story, but it takes you on a moving journey of love, healing, and self-discovery.
Highway love begins with Kartik and Inaaya, who run into each other on a highway. Like a sweet gentleman, Kartik, aka Dhun Dhun, gives a ride to Inaaya and later decides to go with her to the concert in Pune for which she has been travelling, while the latter decides to call it a night and take a shade at her new friend's home.
After the one-day adventure, both say goodbye to each other with heavy hearts and do not contact each other for several days. One fine day, Dhun Dhun lands at Inaaya's workplace, and they finally end up confiding in each other about their feelings. However, a few complexities in their personal and professional lives create misunderstandings and differences between them.
However, during this new love journey in their lives, Kartik and Inaaya talk about their harsh realities, how they have learned self-healing, and what they aspire to in their lives.
At its core, Highway Love is a romance series that beautifully captures the ups and downs of love. The series strikes a balance between showcasing the joys of a budding relationship and exploring the pain of heartbreak. It delves into the emotional depth of the characters, portraying their struggles, insecurities, and personal growth. The chemistry between Kartik and Inaaya is palpable, adding a layer of authenticity to their love story.
Ritvik Sahore impresses as Kartik, bringing depth and vulnerability to his role. Gayatri Bhardwaj shines as Inaaya, capturing the essence of her character's free-spirited soul and emotional journey with finesse. Meanwhile, a few supporting cast members, including Anshuman Malhotra, Vvansh S. Sethi, Gunit Cour, Kanupriya Pandit, Max Fernandes, and Sumiet Subash Arora, add flavour and keep the show entertaining.
Even after being a regular love story, the narration of the show ensures a smooth flow of this four-episodic journey that allows viewers to immerse themselves in the story and connect with the characters' journeys effectively.
Verdict: Highway Love is a captivating show with a heartfelt portrayal of love, healing, and self-discovery. With strong and adorable performances, along with an easy and breezy tale of relationships, the Amazon miniTV series makes for a perfect watch for the weekend.
