Story:

Binnu Dhillon is the Fuffad Ji who has a say in the house. One day, he meets Gurnaam Bhullar. Since that day, the two have constant clashes. Will they ever come to amicable terms?

Review:

Fuffad Ji is quite simple in introductions and yet, filmy in nature. The Fuffad (uncle) is spoken about soon after and his entry is awaited. Binnu Dhillon as the Fuffad makes a cool entry, one that makes the wait worth it. He brings entertainment by throwing air around.

There is a mystery around the Fuffad, about what is he like that everyone is scared of him. You soon realize what the Fuffad is all about.

The editing is a little disturbing since the scenes come one-after-another. Some time into the film, we are introduced to Gurnaam Bhullar too. His face-off with Fuffad Ji is quite interesting. Gurnaam's intensity takes the scene to another level. The hot-headed Jatts are played by both the actors really well.

There's a romance in the film and interestingly, it is family-friendly. Of course, there is a filmy dialogue that warms your heart.

The dance sequences, which are usually the heart of Punjabi culture, are something that are not only visually pleasing but makes you want to be a part of the culture as well.

There is a huge surprise in the film in the first half. You see it coming but only when it is too late. The twist is too interesting to ignore.

Gurnaam has two sides in the film. He plays both with equal conviction. His behaviour with Binnu makes the story hilarious.

Jassie Gill makes a cameo appearance in the movie. It is a scene that leaves an impact. Not just Jassie but Binnu also make an impression. This scene will probably remind you of Jaa Simran Jaa from DDLJ. At the same time, while Fuffad Ji might have his best interest at heart, he tends to manipulate a woman when he made her choice. The kind of behaviour is unacceptable and still commonly found in families, especially across India.

The film explores what happens when someone holds pride for too long, very well. Dowry, which is also a very real issue in the country, is a part of the movie. It shows just how the problem is very real and can make people feel helpless in situations.

Fuffad Ji is also interesting because the characters have a huge say in matters. While it transfers from Binnu to Gurnaam, it would be interesting to see if another character takes over too.

Verdict:

Fuffad Ji is your dose of entertainment. It makes you laugh and tackles real issues at the same time. Thus, the film is a recommended watch.
