Duranga review: Drashti Dhami and Gulshan Devaiah's crime thriller is mysterious, gripping and a must watch

Story:

Duranga follows the tale of a cop, who finds herself in a dilemma when she comes across a shocking truth about her husband and his past while investigating multiple murder cases that hint at a decade-old serial killer.

Review:

A psychological thriller fanatic seeks a gripping and intense story in a series or film. Duranga has all the elements that make for an intriguing watch. The Drashti Dhami and Gulshan Devaiah starrer begins with a suspense-packed sequence that makes us doubt the most obvious character in the series.

The Aijaz Khan and Pradeep Sarkar directorial introduces almost all the main characters in the initial part of the first episode itself. Drashti plays Inspector Ira, while Gulshan portrays the character of a househusband named Sammit Patel, who also works part-time for an art gallery. Both of them own a beautiful house in Mumbai and have a five-year-old daughter.

The show keeps juggling the past and present and showcases all the motives of Sammit that can make him look like the antagonist of Duranga.

Gulshan, who is known for his versatility in acting, has nailed his part of being a silent, quirky, and mysterious character in the show. At times, the actor compels the audience to see him as a serial killer, while a few times he appears to be a victim. The actor's perplexing feature is one of the key elements to making you hold on to the show from start to finish.

While Gulshan has been expected for the way he performed in Duranga, Drashti is the one who makes the audience's eyes swirl around with her portrayal of a cop who is completely in love with her family and puts them above everything. The gorgeous-looking actor surprises the audience with her never-before-seen avatar as she has always appeared as an adorable and innocent girl in love stories opposite a stud-looking actor.

However, her command of Ira's body language makes her seem like a natural actor. Apart from the acting, the diva also wins the viewers' hearts with some action-packed sequences.

Spoiler Alert! Let's talk about the shocking elements of Duranga. Being a psychological thriller series, it ought to throw unthinkable angles toward the audience to keep them hooked on the story. Among multiple revelations, the most astonishing curve in the story arrives when Amit Sadh enters the montage.

The entry of the Breathe actor is completely unexpected, but the story seems to be doing injustice to a talented actor like him by making him do nothing but sleep. However, the end shocks the viewers as it leaves them with a huge cliffhanger.
