However, as they face the challenges of the high-level medical world together, Nitya begins to accept Ishaan, his faith, and his heart.

Doctors Review

Doctors, the medical series begins with Elizabeth Blackwell Medical Centre and a group of physicians working tirelessly to handle critical patients. Among the doctors, Dr. Ishaan Ahuja (Sharad Kelkar) is one of the best neurosurgeons in India. Then, Dr. Nitya Vasu (Harleen Sethi) enters intending to take revenge on Ishaan for spoiling her brother, Dr. Dhaval Vasu's career, by making mistakes in surgery. She, along with another doctor and his best friend, Dr. Roy (Vivaan Shah), begins their revenge journey.

During the process, they assist Dr. Ishaan in several surgeries and face ups and downs as they can not save their lives due to extreme critical conditions. The series tries its best to highlight physicians' lives and their utmost care and hard work to save their patients' lives in real life.

While they take care of various critical patients, Dr. Nitya plans to get access to her brother's surgery files and for this, she needs Ishaan's signature. Without realizing Ishaan already knows why she entered EMC (Elizabeth Blackwell Medical Centre), she gets his signature but can't get hold of access to the file fully as she needs the consent letter of Dr. Dhaval before the operation. However, she faces Ishaan who tells her that she ruined the reputation of EMC by getting access to the file and gives her two options as a punishment - expulsion or transfer.

The series then focuses on Dr. Nitya and Dr. Ishaan coming close to each other and exploring their suppressed romance. Even though Nitya had an intention of taking revenge on Ishaan, she falls in love with him and vice versa during the process. When Nitya and Ishaan almost kiss each other, the latter tries to control himself and says, "He is already engaged." This plot seems very sudden and it could have created more suspense before revealing it. In the meanwhile, Nitya gets to know that Ishaan actually saved her brother's life and she was mistaken because the tumor spread a lot. The series, meanwhile, also shows their uprising romantic relationships in the hospital.

Dr. Ishaan's fiancee enters and faces off with Nitya and shows her engagement ring to inform her that she is engaged to Ishaan. However, Ishaan and Nitya continue to explore their romance and ultimately Lekha gets to know their relationship. After knowing it, Lekha and Ishaan break up. Once a revenge drama jumps to romance which seems incoherent at some times, however, the proportion was right to ignore the fault.

Before beginning their relationship. Ishaan informs Nitya that he made mistakes in doing surgery on her brother and he had no choice as he wanted to save Dhaval's life.

In the meanwhile, Dr. Ishaan along with his team tries hard on the research of Placental Stem Cells Nerve that can save thousands of people's lives and also fix Dr. Dhaval's hand which was damaged due to the operation. By this research, Ishaan intends to operate Dhaval again to fix his hand so that he can get back to his normal life and feel less guilty.

After some heated arguments, Dhaval agrees to operate again. Before going to the OT, Dhaval tells Ishaan that he will demand something if he comes out of the operation, alive.

Ishaan begins his operation along with his team and after a tense moment, he becomes successful and Dhaval's right hand becomes normal again. Then the scene shows Ishaan and Dhaval having a conversation on the terrace of EMC after the latter's operation. Dhaval tells Ishaan that he wants the latter to leave Nitya and move on which only proves that Dhaval is still angry at Ishaan for ruining his career after the first failed operation.

The series ends with Nitya showing off her engagement ring that Ishaan gave her but her colleague, Dr, Abhijat Gupta informs her that Ishaan won't come back as he leaves permanently. While she runs to Ishaan to stop him, the latter takes a cab and leaves, making Nitya cry.

Speaking about the performances, Sharad Kelkar as Dr. Ishaan Ahuja proves why he is one of a kind with his brilliant acting skills. On the other hand, Harleen Sethi as Dr. Nitya Vasu warms hearts, and all the supporting characters deserve praise for their raw and beautiful acting skills.

Doctors Verdict

Sharad Kelkar's Doctors is a perfect blend of emotional depth, romance, and revenge. With the plot of how physicians work relentlessly for their patients, the series has gone as close to reality as possible. However, it has some incoherent scenes which can be easily skipped. While we often praise doctors or criticize them, we rarely see what actually happens in their lives and this medical series aptly focuses on that part.

Meanwhile, Doctors is now streaming on JioCinema. You can also watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription.
